    Welcome To Our Club

Although it's the winter season, with our all weather surfaces that doesn't need to be a reason to stop your tennis. The programme of club, social and team tennis continues right through winter into the spring. If you're interested in finding out more about this, please speak to Tom Dean, our Head Coach or our Club Captain, Mike Twinning.

Courts are generally less busy at this time of year at the club, but there are still peak times when court availability may come under pressure. Less busy periods can be identified by checking with the coaches or by reviewing the Court Calendar which will show when courts are most available for general member use. When all the courts are in use, members are reminded that they are expected to follow club etiquette to ensure no-one is waiting too long to play. Click on the appropriate link for further information on our Member Play Guidelines and on our Court Usage and Eligibility Rules. Also, please make sure you wear your shoe tags at all times, so the coaching team, committee members and Clubhouse Manager can identify you as current members.

Our club caters for all standards of tennis player, from rusty racket beginners to experienced, top level team players. We have weekly social club sessions for all our members on Saturday afternoons throughout the year, and also on Friday evenings during the summer.

The club boasts a fantastic head coach in Tom Dean, who with his team, run some great coaching sessions to suit all ages and levels of ability, from Performance Squads Juniors to fun Cardio drills for all standards of seniors.

We also hold a number of very popular and varied social events throughout the year, kicking off with Burns Night in January through to our Annual Ball in September. Check out the Events Calendar for upcoming events.

We are fortunate to have an excellent and vibrant clubhouse and our Clubhouse Manager, Nick Woolf, runs an active bar and supports many of our events. On Friday evenings from early April onwards through the summer, food is also available in conjunction with our junior and adult club nights. The redecoration and new furniture have made the clubhouse a more attractive venue and Nick works hard to support and engage the Sports Club membership.

Gerrards Cross Dukes Wood Lawn Tennis Club is part of the Gerrards Cross Sports Club which comprises Tennis, Cricket and Hockey. The Sports Club was established in 1882 and moved to the heart of the Dukes Wood estate in 1912 when the Tennis Club was formed. Now into our centenary years, we are all proud to be part of a thriving and friendly Tennis Club with six all-weather adult courts, four in Advantage Pro astroturf and two of which have been recently upgraded to Clayrite artificial clay. Four of the courts are also equipped with modern floodlights, and there is one short court for junior players and junior training.
